Origin of The Caffrey Estate
Built in 1936 by Dorothy Cruikshank Snyder Cochran Caffrey, The Caffrey Estate began as the personal vision of an artist and storyteller. After a life marked by privilege, heartbreak, and reinvention—including a royal marriage and a return to Reno—Dorothy created this Colonial Revival estate as a place of culture. For decades, it served as a haven for poetry readings, soirées, and the arts in the community. Today, the private residence is sending out limited invitations for touring and experiencing the property.
